At Familia Gómez Moreno we have the honor to announce once again, that our pasteurized cured manchego cheese Certezamade in an artisan way with pasteurized milk from 100% Manchego sheep from our own livestock by Quesos Carpuela has obtained the Gran Selección Silver 2023 award in the Gran Selección Campo y Alma 2023 contest that is organized and celebrated every year by the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha.

Gran Selección Campo y Alma Awards, a guarantee of quality

Castilla La Mancha is one of the pantries of quality products in Spain, Europe and why not, the world, proof of this is the internationalization of our cheeses and many other products.

This demand for Manchego cheese is no coincidence, since the quality of Manchego cheese in general and of our PDO and artisan cheeses in particular is a reality that year after year receives all kinds of recognition.

The Gran Selección Campo y Alma Awards annually certify that quality, once again being for us a prestigious recognition by keeping us year after year in their award-winning cheese category, as it makes us prophets in our own land, “La Mancha.”

Certeza Pasteurized Aged Manchego Cheese

Our Certeza pasteurized aged Manchego cheese is matured for a minimum of six months. Since it is made with pasteurized milk, it is suitable for pregnant women. The milk is heated to a temperature between approximately 55 and 75 ºC for a short period of time. This process helps eliminate most pathogenic bacteria while preserving the product’s properties and quality.

This variety of cheese has a perfect balance between the characteristic flavor of aged cheese (intense) and a smooth, pleasant, and creamier texture on the palate. In pasteurized cheeses, the aroma tends to be more intense.

In Familia Gómez Moreno we have carried out a unification of our brands by creating sub-brands that cover our variety of products. In this case, Certeza Aged is our classic pasteurized Manchego cheese, which was previously known as Don Gregorio.

For us, Certeza is a name linked to our brand idea “Verdad Manchega” which refers to the honesty and quality of our cheeses. With Certeza we value our centenary know-how that guarantees the quality and flavor of each of the cheeses in the range.

The award for our Certeza Aged is not an isolated event; this same cheese has been recognized on other occasions. In 2020, the JJCM already honored it with another award at the 2020 Gran Selección Silver Awards.

Over a century of experience

The Gómez Moreno family holds over a century of experience and care in crafting authentic Manchego cheese, passed down from generation to generation. That’s why this recognition of so many years of work, skill, and dedication is so important and moving for us.

Tradition, family and legacy. Or what is the same, knowledge, truth and sincerity. The truth behind a taste, a texture, an aroma, the security of a brand that is a family. A guarantee of quality from the origin. Tradition does not turn us into an aged or rigid brand, tradition marks a path for us.

For us, when we talk about commitment, we mean it as a whole—commitment to the way things are done, to the cheese, the land, the livestock, the consumer, and to ourselves. It means respecting years of knowledge so that, in the end, the cheese becomes a product where everything surrounding it is valued. Commitment is personal; it belongs to the family, to each member of the Gómez Moreno family and what they love.

Not only that, we have been renewing ourselves, wanting to modernize and advance according to the globalization of the markets, also knowing how to adapt to the new needs and demands in quality and food safety, achieving international certificates (IFS) without losing the tradition of La Mancha and the essence of the flavor that differentiates us so much.

The Gran Selección de Campo y Alma de Castilla-La Mancha competition is not a one-off case since our cheeses have been recognized by various and varied international competitions. The different prizes obtained throughout our trajectory have been awarded by Great Taste Awards or the competition also International Cheese Awards with the silver medal in 2019 for our pasteurized cured Manchego Cheese Don Gregorio, now called Certeza.

The key to our success continues to be the selective rigor of the raw material: pure Manchegan sheep’s milk from our own livestock; born, raised and sustained in the typical climate of La Mancha and fed on natural pastures.
