Familia Gómez Moreno is honored to announce that our Carpuela Artisan Semi-Cured Manchego Cheese, handcrafted by Quesos Carpuela, has won the Grand Selection Bronze Award 2021 in the Gran Selección competition organized annually by the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha.

It is a competition held annually by the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, whose philosophy they describe very well as: <<A synonym for excellence in the quality of products from our land, Castilla-La Mancha. Seeking the best, the most outstanding, the Gold and Silver Selection. The level is very high, and discovering an incredible product—the Grand Selection. Recognizing the passion, determination, drive for improvement, and endless hours of work and effort. The ‘Gran Selección’ Awards are given annually by the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha as recognition for the best differentiated quality agri-food products from the region.
This recognition is not an isolated event, and our artisan Manchego cheeses made from raw and pasteurized milk have been awarded and recognized multiple times in recent years by the expert tasters forming the tasting panel of this prestigious competition.

Carpuela Artisan Semi-Cured Manchego Cheese
Our award-winning cheese, Carpuela Semi-Cured Manchego Cheese, is made with raw milk from Manchega sheep from our own livestock.
It is important not to forget that the Denomination of Origin has requirements that must be met, including that the cheese is made from Manchega sheep’s milk and that the sheep are raised in the area established by the Regulatory Council of the Manchego Cheese Denomination of Origin.

Not only that, but we have been renewing ourselves, aiming to modernize and advance in line with market globalization, while also adapting to new quality and food safety requirements by obtaining international certifications (IFS), all without losing the Manchegan tradition and the essence of the flavor that sets us apart— as shown by the various awards received throughout our history, not limited to the Gran Selección de Castilla-La Mancha but also in international competitions such as Great Taste Awards or like the competition also International Cheese Awards with the silver medal in 2019 for our Don Gregorio pasteurized cured Manchego cheese.
The key to our success continues to be the selective rigor of the raw material: pure Manchegan sheep’s milk from our own livestock; born, raised and sustained in the typical climate of La Mancha and fed on natural pastures.
