This past Saturday, March 29th, our cheesemaking facility opened its doors to celebrate World Cheese Day, in collaboration with the Herencia Town Council.
World Cheese Day at Gómez Moreno Family
It was a special occasion on which we had the honor of welcoming a group of guests to our facilities to share our daily work and our passion for cheesemaking.
Guided tour of our artisan Manchego cheese factory
During the guided tour, we explained the process of making different types of cheese, highlighting the perfect synergy between modern technology and traditional techniques passed down from our predecessors.
Throughout the day, we showcased the production and preservation of our Manchego DOP cheeses and sheep’s milk cheeses, along with more innovative varieties such as truffle cheese, cheese cured in lard, in olive oil, and with rosemary.
Tasting of Manchego and artisan sheep cheeses
To conclude the visit, our manager, José Ángel, offered an educational tasting of the different types of cheese, where guests had the opportunity to sample various varieties and learn about the unique qualities that make each cheese special.
Carpuela, Carea, Certeza, and Truffego
It was a sensory experience that allowed everyone to enjoy the authentic taste of the La Mancha region and learn to distinguish between flavors of pasteurized cheeses and those with shorter or longer aging times.
During the cheese tasting for World Cheese Day, we enjoyed a wide variety of cheeses from our different brands such as Certeza, Carpuela, Carea, and Truffego.
From the Gómez Moreno Family, we are very grateful for the participation of everyone who joined us on such a special day. Without a doubt, it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the tradition and gastronomy of our region, and we are happy to continue sharing our story and our cheeses with everyone.
